We are offering THE HEARTBEAT RITE OF PASSAGE for the family with a 9-12 year old this summer!! This program is for the acknowledgement of the changing dynamics within the child, and thus the needed new agreements in the operation of the home. There will be one workshop for the parents so that they can prepare to help give their pre-teen this mini Rite of passage. Then the group will have an overnight at a group camp site within 45 minutes of Boulder.

Date in early July or late August depending on the group. This will be a fun yet deep family event that will give you the resources you need to adjust the family life until the next Rite of Passage at 14.

There is a Soul Crisis around the age of 9-10 years

It is akin to “the fall from paradise”. The magic of childhood is basically over. In by gone days this would be the time the child would find out who Santa and The Easter Bunny really are. It can also be a sad time for parents! It’s a great time to just STOP and reevaluate. You had the baby, the babyhood, toddler, and young childhood. Those days TOTALLY changed your life. and the days of “cutting the crust off the bread” are over. Most parents have such a life altering experience that they can loose perspective. Adults have a life to live too, it’s time the household is acknowledged as a community space where everyone partakes in its care and upkeep.

This program is based out of Waldorf Education combined with Indigenous wisdom and Informed by Nature.

We are seeking three to five families to form a pod for this HEARTBEAT RITE OF PASSAGE. Cost is depending on how many families are involved, as fees are split between them.
